Terms of Use
The agreement that governs your use of Hijabiin as a shopper or a boutique: accounts, orders, payment, content and responsibilities.
1. Definitions
- “Platform” or “Hijabiin”: the website and application operated by Rowad Alebdaa Company (trading as Hijabiin / حجابي إن), based in Amman, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
- “Shopper” or “Customer”: anyone who creates an account to buy products through the Platform.
- “Boutique”: an independent store whose products are listed on the Platform after approval and which supplies them to the Platform under the Seller Agreement, represented by the account holder registered in the seller portal.
- “Seller under the Hijabiin name”: an individual who supplies a limited number of products to the Platform after approval, without a store name, whose products are shown to shoppers in the Hijabiin Collection and who stays anonymous to them. What these Terms say about a Boutique applies to a Seller under the Hijabiin name unless stated otherwise.
- “Order”: a single purchase confirmed by the Customer from their bag; it is split automatically into several “parcels” when its products come from more than one Boutique.
- “Parcel”: the part of an Order prepared by one Boutique and handed to the delivery company.
2. Acceptance and eligibility
An account is created with explicit acceptance of these Terms and the Privacy Policy: a box that is not pre-ticked and a confirmation of being 18 or older; the Platform records which version of the text was accepted and when. An account created before that, or through Google or Apple sign-in, is asked for the same acceptance before placing any order or sending any message. The Returns & Shipping Policy applies to every order. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract. Accounts are created with a valid e-mail address verified by a code sent to it; an account is not active until verification is complete.
3. Nature of the Platform and the role of Boutiques
Hijabiin is an online store offering products from approved boutiques and from approved sellers selling under the Hijabiin name. The Platform is the seller to the Customer in every order: the sale is formed between the Customer and the Platform, the Platform issues the tax invoice in its own name, and it handles the order, payment, delivery, returns and refunds under the published policies. Boutiques and sellers under the Hijabiin name supply their products to the Platform under the Seller Agreement.
Every Boutique is reviewed and approved by the Platform team before it appears; the product photos of a seller under the Hijabiin name are reviewed before publication, and the Platform may review and archive any product at any time. The Platform is responsible to the Customer for each item matching its description and for its return and refund (see the Buyer Protection page), with recourse against the supplying store under the Seller Agreement.
4. Platform identity: modesty is non-negotiable
Hijabiin is a modest platform committed to proper Islamic hijab. Boutiques and shoppers alike must not publish through the Platform — in products, photos, reviews or messages — any content that contradicts this identity.
The Platform reserves the absolute right to reject any product, image, review or comment before or after publication, and to suspend the account of any Boutique or user who violates this condition, without any obligation to compensate.
5. Account and security
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account. Passwords are stored hashed and are never visible to the Platform team.
- Account details must be accurate and kept up to date; you can edit your name, phone, addresses and password from your account settings.
- The Platform may suspend or close an account on suspicion of fraudulent use or a breach of these Terms; the account holder is notified by e-mail, and the reason can be asked through the public support page.
- You may request deletion of your account at any time from your account settings; see the Privacy Policy for what is retained after deletion and why.
6. Orders and prices
- All prices are shown in Jordanian dinars inclusive of applicable tax. Shipping fees, where they apply, are shown on the checkout page before you confirm.
- Confirming an order is an offer to buy. The Boutique accepts it by preparing it and may decline it — for example when stock has run out or preparation is impossible — in which case nothing is collected and any prepaid amount is refunded under the Returns Policy.
- A single order may be split into several parcels by Boutique; each parcel is tracked with its own status (being prepared, with the courier, delivered) from the order page.
- Where an obvious error appears in a price or description, the Boutique or the Platform may cancel the order before delivery and refund any amount paid.
- Discount codes: the Platform may publish discount codes. One code applies per order, and codes cannot be combined. Each code has its own conditions — a validity period, a minimum product total, first order only, how many times it may be used — checked when you confirm the order. A code reduces the products' price only, never the shipping fee, and never below zero; free shipping is judged on the product total after the discount. Tax is calculated on the price after the discount, and the invoice shows the discount. A code has no cash value.
- If an order that used a code is cancelled before it is paid or prepared — by you, because a bank transfer did not arrive in time, or because the Boutique declined every parcel — the code is yours to use again; it is not restored when an order is returned after delivery. The Platform may stop a code at any time; an order already placed with it keeps its discount.
7. Payment
Two payment methods are available today. The Platform does not currently accept credit cards or online card payments:
- Cash on delivery: you pay the order amount in cash to the courier when receiving the parcel. The courier is bound to the exact amount shown on the order. The Platform may restrict this option for accounts that repeatedly refuse delivery without reason.
- Bank transfer: the Platform's account details are shown after you confirm the order; you make the transfer and then upload a picture of the transfer receipt from the order page within 24 hours of confirming the order, otherwise the order is cancelled automatically. Payment is not approved and the order is not prepared until the Platform team has verified that the funds arrived. If the receipt cannot be accepted, you are told the reason in writing and the order returns to awaiting payment with a new 24-hour window, counted from the rejection, to upload a valid receipt; if that window passes without one, the order is cancelled automatically and any discount code used on it becomes valid again.
- Invoice and credit notes: one official invoice is issued for an order when the sale becomes final — when a prepayment is approved, or, for cash on delivery, when the whole order has been delivered — and it is never altered afterwards; every refund of a parcel the invoice covers receives a credit note that refers to the invoice and reverses that parcel's value and tax. The invoice and credit notes are shown on the order page.
The Platform notifies you by e-mail and inside your account — these order notices cannot be switched off — when an order is placed, when it is cancelled because its payment was not completed in time, when its payment is confirmed, when a transfer receipt is rejected (with the reason), when a parcel is dispatched, delivered or declined by the Boutique, when you cancel an order, and at each step of a return and refund.
8. Shipping, returns and refunds
The Returns & Shipping Policy — an integral part of these Terms — governs the delivery area and fees, the three-calendar-day return window counted from the parcel's delivery date, the conditions for accepting a return, and the two-step refund process.
9. Reviews and in-platform messaging
- Communication between a Customer and a Boutique happens exclusively through the private chat inside the Platform (from the product or order page). The Platform never shows a Boutique's phone number or any external channel, and the system automatically rejects a message in which it detects a phone number, an external link or an e-mail address.
- Conversations are private to their two parties; the Platform team may read them upon a complaint or suspected breach and may close a conversation that breaks the rules, stating the reason. Using the chat for abuse or to arrange sales outside the Platform is prohibited.
- A Customer may review only products they have actually received, and may attach photos to their review.
- No review or photo is published before the Platform team has moderated it. The Platform may reject or remove any review or photo that contradicts the Platform identity (section 4) or contains abuse, personal information or content unrelated to the product.
- By publishing a review or photo you grant the Platform a non-exclusive licence to display it on the product and boutique pages for as long as it remains published.
10. Seller terms
- Seller Agreement: each seller's relationship with the Platform is governed by the Seller Agreement published on the policies page, which the store owner accepts before the store dashboard opens and after every material change, and which prevails over this section in what it governs. What follows summarises its main terms.
- Registration and approval: registration takes place through the seller portal; the seller's profile and documents are submitted for review, and a seller under the Hijabiin name may submit only a national identity document. Neither the seller nor its products are published before approval by the Platform team, and a Boutique is approved on one of two tracks: the platform margin with the capped trial described below, or a live subscription (a trial counts); there is no free track.
- Fees: There is no sign-up fee and no activation fee, and the platform-margin track has no subscription and no minimum term. The Platform buys the products of each order at the sale price minus its margin, taken from the value of the goods before tax and after any discount; the margin does not cover delivery fees. The Platform margin is 5% during the trial, until whichever comes first: 90 days after the first confirmed sale, or 1,000 JOD in sales before tax; it is then 18% for a boutique and 20% for a seller under the Hijabiin name, and the trial is given once per commercial registration or identity. Sellers are notified 60 days before any change to these rates. Instead of the platform margin, a boutique may take a subscription for at least three months, paid up front every three months or annually according to the chosen plan (a year costs ten months), with no margin on its orders; a seller under the Hijabiin name works on the platform margin only. A boutique may move between the two tracks by a request through support, with the Platform's approval.
- Subscription invoices: an invoice is issued to a subscribing boutique and settled by bank transfer with an uploaded proof of payment. If payment is not made within 48 hours of the due date, purchasing from the boutique is suspended automatically at the next daily check — its products stay visible but cannot be added to the cart, and no new product can be listed — until the payment is approved, after which purchasing resumes automatically.
- Settlement and payouts: a seller's earnings on delivered parcels are credited to its wallet in a weekly settlement cycle once the return window has passed and, for cash on delivery, once the cash has been remitted to the Platform, net of any accepted return and of any amount the seller owes the Platform — such as a return-shipping fee or a cash-on-delivery shortfall; the Platform bears the return shipping of a parcel refused at the door — with any remainder carried to the next cycle; the Platform team then transfers what is left, if anything, to a registered, verified Jordanian bank account. The Platform may write off an amount a seller owes that could not be recovered within ninety days of arising, after which it is no longer deducted from the seller's earnings; a write-off is not a waiver of the Platform's right to claim the amount through lawful means.
- Fulfilling orders: the seller accepts or rejects a parcel before handing it to the delivery company, prepares it within a reasonable time, and keeps descriptions, photos, prices and stock accurate. If a prepaid parcel is rejected, the Platform refunds its value to the customer.
- Content and modesty: the seller respects the Platform's modest identity in everything it publishes (section 4). The product photos of a seller under the Hijabiin name are reviewed before publication against a single rule — if a woman appears in the photo, she wears full, proper hijab. The review is done by an AI service when that service is enabled, with anything in doubt going to the Platform team, whose decision prevails; otherwise the Platform team reviews them itself. Boutique logos, covers and stories are reviewed, and the Platform may archive any non-compliant product, giving a written reason.
- Contact inside the Platform only: a seller's phone number is not requested for display and is never shown to customers; chat messages containing a phone number, a link or an e-mail address are rejected automatically; and a store's social-media links are not shown to customers.
- Boutique team: On either track, the boutique owner may invite at most two team members, in the data-entry and order-preparation roles; an invitation takes effect only when the member accepts it, and the owner is responsible for what the team's accounts do in the store.
- Product limits: On either track, a boutique has no commercial limit on its number of products, only a fair-use ceiling of 500 active products and 50 new products a day added by hand; a seller under the Hijabiin name may list at most five products.
- Suspension and closure: upon breach, the Platform may, by a recorded decision of its team stating the reason, suspend a seller — sales and new listings stop, sign-in sessions are ended and settlement of its earnings is held pending review — or close its account permanently, archiving its products. A closed store's earnings are not paid in the weekly settlement but in a final settlement the Platform team runs by a recorded decision stating the reason: amounts the store owes are recovered first, then its earnings on delivered parcels whose return window has passed, with no open return and no hold on their payout and, for cash on delivery, once the cash has reached the Platform, are transferred to it, and anything it still owes is subject to the write-off terms above. The owner of a closed store may send, through support, instructions for the payout account its earnings are to be transferred to; the Platform team records it with a written reason and the reference of those instructions, it is approved only after an additional check under the Platform's financial controls: a second administrator or, when the Platform is run by one administrator, a cooling period of at least twenty-four hours before any payout, and the owner receives a security e-mail showing its last four digits. A held payout of a closed store is decided by a written decision stating the reason: it is either released or forfeited. Forfeiture applies only to a closed store, once the parcel has been delivered, its return window has passed with no open return and, for cash on delivery, the cash has reached the Platform, and only after the amounts the store owes have first been recovered from it. A forfeited amount is not income of the Platform: it is kept in a separate liability account for anyone harmed, or any competent authority, who may claim it. The store owner is notified of the release or forfeiture decision and its reason as soon as it is made, and of every final settlement run made for it and what it covers. The account holder may also request closure; the request is accepted only once the store is settled, as section 7 of the Privacy Policy explains.
11. Prohibited use
- Creating more than one account per person to circumvent rules, or impersonating others.
- Placing fake orders or repeatedly refusing delivery without reason.
- Attempting unauthorised access to the Platform's systems or its users' data, or using automated tools to harvest data.
- Publishing any content that is abusive, unlawful, contrary to public morals or to the Platform identity.
12. Intellectual property
The Hijabiin name, logo, design and software belong to the Platform and may not be used without written permission. Product photos and descriptions remain the property of the Boutique that uploaded them; the Boutique grants the Platform a licence to display and promote them within the Platform and its channels.
13. Limitation of liability
The Platform is provided as is. The Platform makes reasonable efforts to keep the service available and the information accurate, without guaranteeing freedom from interruption or error. The Platform is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and its liability towards a Customer is in any case limited to the value of the disputed order.
Nothing above affects any consumer right that cannot be waived under applicable Jordanian law.
14. Changes to these Terms
The Platform may amend these Terms at any time. The updated text is published on this page with the “Last updated” date at the top, and continued use of the Platform after publication constitutes acceptance. Users are notified of material changes inside their account: the first time the account is used after publication, a notice summarises the change and links to the updated text; it stays until it is closed, and closing it is saved to the account so it does not reappear on other devices. The notice is not shown to anyone who opened their account after the change was published, since they accepted the updated text when signing up.
15. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the courts of Amman have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, after the parties first attempt an amicable resolution through the support centre.
16. Contact
For any question or complaint about these Terms or a specific order, contact us through the support centre inside your account; every message opens a numbered ticket you can follow and attach files to. Questions about a specific product or order go to the Boutique through the in-platform chat.
Without an account, write to us from the public support page; we reply by e-mail to the address you give.
Contact us17. Paid advertising and advertisers
- Some of what appears on the home page — banner slides and boutique-rail cards — is paid content, clearly labelled «Sponsored», and never changes search or browse ranking.
- The Platform team books and invoices external advertisers' campaigns on their behalf; there is no self-serve portal yet. Every paid ad's creative shows the product alone or people in full, proper Islamic hijab (section 4), and every creative is reviewed and approved by the Platform team before it runs.
- An external advertiser's card may lead to a page outside the Platform, which the Platform reviews before approving the ad; if it later breaches the Platform's modest identity or its publishing standards, the ad is suspended immediately once the breach is known, and the Platform bears no responsibility for that external site's content. The advertiser is refunded, by a proportional credit note, for the weeks not yet started of an ad suspended immediately; unless the suspension is for the advertiser's own breach of the modesty standards or these Terms, in which case there is no refund for them.
- Ad prices are exclusive of sales tax, which is added on top, and their invoice is drawn from the Platform's own invoice series; a creative rejected in review, or a booking cancelled before its first week starts, is refunded in full, with no refund once the week has started. The ad week runs Saturday through Friday, Amman time.
18. Custom tailoring requests
- A "tailoring request" is a piece made to the customer's own specification by a Boutique offering the service, submitted through the in-platform private chat (section 9). The request's description and specification must meet the Platform's modest identity (section 4); the Boutique replies with a price and a delivery window, or declines with a written reason. The minimum price of a tailoring request is five Jordanian dinars.
- The deposit: once the customer accepts the price and window, a deposit of 30% of the agreed price is required, paid by bank transfer through the same proof-of-payment process as any order (section 7); the request is not put into production until the Platform team confirms the deposit has arrived.
- The remainder and the invoice: on completion, one invoice is issued from the Platform's own invoice series for the full price and its tax, showing the deposit as an advance payment; the remainder is paid by bank transfer and its proof the same way as any order, and the piece is not handed over before that payment is confirmed.
- Cancellation after production has started: if the customer cancels the request after the deposit payment is confirmed, the deposit is kept in full as a cancellation fee, compensating the Boutique for its work and materials; it is not refunded. If the Boutique cancels it after production has started, the deposit is refunded to the customer in full, with no fee. No tailoring request is cancelled, by any route, while a transfer proof uploaded for it — for the deposit or the remainder — awaits the Platform team's decision; that proof is decided first.
- A tailoring request is made to order, so the three-day return window (section 8) does not apply to it, and it is not accepted back except for a manufacturing defect. Any dispute over a tailoring request — including a claimed defect — is raised through the support centre (section 16), and the Platform rules on it in a written decision that may include a full refund of the deposit.
- Unpaid deposit: if proof of the deposit payment does not arrive within 48 hours of accepting the offer, the request is cancelled automatically with no financial effect, since nothing has been collected yet. It is not cancelled while an uploaded proof awaits the Platform team's decision; if that proof is rejected after the deadline has passed, the request is cancelled as well.
- Late delivery: if production runs three days past the agreed delivery window, the customer is notified, and may then cancel the request and receive a full refund of the deposit — unlike the cancellation fee above, since the delay here is the Boutique's responsibility, not the customer's. If a completed request sits unpaid for the remainder for more than thirty days despite a reminder, the Platform may close it by written decision with a full refund of the deposit, once any pending payment proof has been decided.
- Store closure: if a store is closed by Platform decision while it has open, incomplete tailoring requests, those requests are cancelled and any deposit paid on them is refunded in full to their customers regardless of stage, with no cancellation fee applied; the store is not closed until any pending payment proof on those requests has been decided.
- Refunds: any amount refunded on a tailoring request is returned by a transfer approved by the Platform team.
